The Guardian – The informal branch of Black Lives Matter in Ferguson is not the origin of this movement. But the shooting of Brown certainly galvanized the national campaign, and the protesters near St Louis have been among the most high profile and consistently scrutinized since that day in August last year when Brown lost his life.
