The Debrief – I managed to track down Beverley Bryan who was one of the last Panther recruits and a founding member of the Black Women’s group in Brixton – the first of it’s kind in the UK. She is now a retired professor at the University of West Indies and has co-authored a pioneering book about the rise of black British feminism during the 1970s called The Heart of the Race: Black Women’s Lives in Britain.
