Forbes – Hers is somewhat of a modern fairy tale. That of Angolan top model Maria Borges. Raised in times of Angola’s civil war – by her sister who is just five years Borges’ senior – the 24-year-old has experienced life from both ends of the spectrum. Elle Magazine’s May cover girl and L’Oréal Paris’ latest global ambassador – joining the roster alongside Eva Longoria, Karlie Kloss and Helen Mirren – has made it into the major-league of modelling, following her multi-year deal with the French cosmetics giant.
